Photoshop Gameday Preview- Ottawa @ Pittsburgh

by Capital Gains

It's game day! The Sens are in Pittsburgh to take on the Penguins tonight. Ottawa is coming into this game having just lost to the Leafs, 6-3. As many of you know, the much anticipated Superbowl was last night, and most of the Senators predicted that the Seahawks were going to win. Will the Seahawks victory have an effect on the game tonight? Did Matt Kassian eat everything at his Superbowl party? Here are you story lines:

  • Chris Neil is coming off one of his best game in years, as he registered 2 goals and an assist. Although that was not enough to help the team win Saturday night, everyone was shocked by his offensive touch. If he continues to play like he did against Toronto, then tonight we will see two of the league’s top offensive players face off against each other.
Sidney Crosby can grow mean amounts of hair on his arms but lacks that capability when it comes to his face.
    • The last meeting between the Sens and Penguins resulted in the Senators lighting 5 mups and winning the game. The game tonight should be a lot closer, which has Sens’ forward Matt Kassian a little worried:
This is how real men get manicures.
      • Erik Karlsson did not have that much ice time in the Sens loss to Toronto. Expect to see a lot more of him on the ice tonight, especially with the fire power offence that the Penguins have.
"I'm the best defenseman in the game. When you try me with a sorry forward like Crosby, that's the result you are going to get. Don't you ever talk about me."
        • Linemates Kyle Turris and Bobby Ryan are friends on and off the ice, however, last night Ryan was cheering for the Broncos while Turris was on the Seahawks' side. Midway through the game we saw a bit of heat between the two as Ryan tweeted, Although they were cheering for different teams, they will put the results of the Superbowl behind them, and go back to being friends.
Peyton Manning turnovers were coming in hot.
          • Seeing as yesterday was Groundhog's day and Craig Anderson is starting again, we assume that Robin Lehner is feeling the effects of Déjà vu.
"What if I don't start tomorrow? I didn't start today."
These signs were spotted in Cowen, Gryba, and Wiercioch's lockers.
              Enjoy the game tonight!
